QuestionQUESTION: I have these growing along my back fence. Some are starting to turn brown and dead looking. I have gone to a
nursery and they sold me something with Garlic in it. It
didn't do anything. I have kept them moist and I have a lot
invested in them. Could you think of anything I might try
Would so appreciate it. I love the vines.

AnswerHi Shirley,
Thanx for your question. You didn't say whether you noticed any insects on it or not so I'm going to assume that this could be a fungus problem. Has the plant received regualr water? Drought can cause the leaves to turn brown. Try a fungicidal spray but remove all of the brown and/or deadlooking leaves and burn them or put them in the trash. Spray the plant with a fungicidal spray. Clean the area up around the plant removing weeds and dead or decaying growth and dispose of it. Do not fertilize until spring and then use a 10-10-10 balanced fertilizer. I hope this helps.
