QuestionI have grown Callas Lillie for several years. We live in Ohio and usually dug them up in October, because we always had a frost by now. Unusual fall this year it's still 80 degrees here this year. My husband thought he was helping me out,( maybe he was) but he dug all of my Lillie out. The leaves were not yellow, will that kill my Lillie.
Also we have a daughter getting married in June 6 of next year,. Could we force bloom these Lillie? They sure would make a beautiful table decorations.
AnswerHi Karen,
Your lilies will be fine. Just cut off the top leaves and hand-brush the dirt off and store them in a dry place that stays about 40-50 degrees.
When you want to start "forcing" them, you'll want to plant them in pots and use a grow light for at least 8 hours a day. Don't forget to fertilize them.
