Questionlast spring i bought a miniature rose plant and put it in my office. It had lots of flowers when I bought it but now it never flowers. It is doing great as for the branches and leaves but no flowers. Is there anything I can give it or do to it in order to get flowers out of it.
AnswerHi Julie,
Thanx for your question. There are a number of reasons why your rose won't bloom. I've included a link that should be helpful.
Make sure the rose gets at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. Do not allow the soil to dry completely out but make sure the soil drains well and doesn't stay soggy. Feed your rose periodically. Use a rose food and follow the directions on the package. Feed only during the growing season, April to August. Trim off dead foliage or foliage that is getting unruly. Watch out for aphids and spider mites and treat with a horticultural soap or spray. Some varieties only bloom once a year. It's now fall so that could be whiy it'sn ot blooming. I hope this helps.
