QuestionI live in Southern Connecticut, Zone 6a, and would like to use Miscanthus Sinensis 'Huron Sunrise' as a foundation plant. I love the color and the height. My only concern is will this variety of Miscanthus Sinensis self-sow? I don't have room for the plant to spread.
Thank you.
AnswerHi Lisa,
Thanx for your question. This ornamental grass will self-seed in warm, wet climates (mostly the Southern half of the U.S.). Your growing season is probably not sufficiently long enough for this plant to set mature seed. I have not noticed it self-seeding here in my climate which is similar to yours. I hope this helps.
