QuestionHi Tom,
I have white calalilies that are about 12 years old and have always bloomed, though not prolifically. Last year I moved them to the south side of my house so they'd get more sun. They came up fine, and would start to bloom, but the flower stems would bend over - do they need viagra?? I never got a complete bloom this summer - they all bent over and only partially bloomed. Do you think they needed to be fed more Scotts Bulb Food? I didn't feed them in the spring like I normally do. Also... I have a seed pod - should I plant the little seeds separately or the whole thing together? Will each seed in the pod be a new plant?
Thank you very much,
Susan
AnswerHi Susan,
Thanx for your question. Make sure the soil is not soggy but well draining. The soil should not be allowed to get bone dry either. You can use your Scotts Bulb food. It would probably be helpful.
As for the seeds, plant them separately and they will most likely produce a new plant. Plant 1/2 inch deep. It takes a couple of weeks at 75F for them to germinate. I hope this helps.
Tom
