QuestionI am trying to buy old fashioned orange tiger lillies for my mother. All the on-line sites have a salmon color they call orange, but that's all I can find. Can you help me? Frustated
AnswerLilium lancifolium is by definition ORANGE. You may be finding a Lily commonly called 'Lilium tigrinum', named after the 'freckles' that resemble the spots on the Tiger Lily. Look instead for Lilium lancifolium:

A company called Rare Exotic Seeds sells your Tiger Lily Seeds online:

Real Tiger Lilies are uncommon and can be difficult to find in some years. Grown from Seed, they are not only affordable, but actually available. Good luck; keep me posted.
