QuestionWe have a lovely, relatively healthy lavender plant that is potted in a glazed ceramic pot. We've had this plant since the spring and have had a bounty of fragrant blossoms until recently. The other thing we've noticed is that the center of the plant (the main stalk) is dry and grey. We live in Charleston, SC. The plant is kept on a covered porch and gets about 4 hrs. of sun each day. We thoroughly water every 2 days. I'd hate to lose it! What can we do to remedy the problem?
AnswerHi Emily,
Thanx for your question. Lavender benefit from direct sun and at least 6-8 hours. Yours isn't getting enough sun. Eventually, it will become leggy and not bloom as much. Lavender tolerate drought but if it is potted you are right to water every couple of days. I'd get the plant more exposure to more sun. I hope this helps.
