QuestionThis is the second year for my honeysuckel plants. They are hardly growing at all. I was told they were fast growing but I don't see much growth. They are planted at an old wire corn crib and I am hoping they will eventually cover it. Thanks
AnswerHi Judy,
Thanx for your question. Honeysuckle grow best in full sun (at least 6 hours a day) but they will grow in shade. I know, because I have a plant I have been trying to get rid of for years that grows well in my shady back yard. Give it some Miraclegro (preferable the Organic blend). This will give it a boost of nitrogen that should kick-start it into more rapid growth before the onset of autumn. You won't get much blooming but hopefully the Miraclegro will help expand root growth and green growth. Make sure you are watering it at least once a week particularly if it has been consistent hot and dry. The first couple of years are usually slow with woody climbers but the third should show some significant growth and blooming. I hope this helps.
