Hardy Cyclamen tubers

Question
Hi!  I live in NJ (zone 6), and I planted hardy cyclamen tubers into my garden late May.  I purchased them on-line, and I'm always suspicious of the quality of the products, though other bulbs from the same site have been doing well.  When can I expect to see growth?  I'm also worried because I'm thinking that the soil is too moist for their liking. Also, you know what the plant looks like coming out of the ground?  I frequently pull weeds from the garden, and I want to make sure I don't mistakenly pull it out!  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Milly,
Thanx for your question.  One thing the hardy cyclamen does not like is damp soil.  If you are watering stop.  They are quite content in dry soil.  When the plant begins to emerge which should be soon, you will see brownish stems coming up out of the ground that appear to have hairs on them.  The leaves range in various green colors from dull to bright and there is usually some white markings on the leaves.  You will not have a doubt when you see them emerging just be careful as you pull weeds and grass.  Your corms should be sprouting very soon.  I hope this helps.
Tom
