Question
..are on my small tree I just purchased at the nursery. Tonight I notice at dusk that the flowers are closing!!I didn't know they did that!!As soon as I put it in a big planter, I saw the ants making a trip to it. At the nursery, I saw a hummingbird near it. Certainly is proving interesting. I live in northern Illinois.  It is outside on my porch and will get the morning sun until noon. I'm enjoying it already-hope to keep the ants away!!

 You have the perfect plant in a perfect place.  It is performing exactly as it should.  I would however put something around the bottom of the pot to keep the ants from the plant. You can even put one of the "ant-bait homes" on top of the soil.
 My hibiscus bloomed for 2 yrs in the summer then it changed to blooming only in the winter-I keep it in a southern exposure window.  It brings such beauty to those dreary days.
