QuestionMy elephant plants are turning brown and dying. Never had a problem like this in the past. What causes this and what can be done to save them?
AnswerHi Marshall,
You've got me on this one. I do not know what an elephant eye plant is. Usually, when a plant is turning brown it can be a number of things. Is the ground soggy around it? Stop watering. If it is hard and dry, you need to water more. Brown leaves can be a symptom of too much water for some plants and not enough for others. If you're talking about elephant ear plants that grow from a large bulb, they like full sun and lots of water. Some bone meal worked into the soil or sidedressed with composted manure makes them happy. Remember, lots of water but make sure it drains well, lots of heat and lots of sun although They have done extremely well for me as a shade plant too. I hope this helps.
