Questionmy plant froze last winter. Iit has really grown this spring, but hasn't bloomed yet. Does it take awhile for it to bloom after a freeze? if so, how long?

AnswerHi Shirley,
Thanx for your question. Bougainvillea are frequently grown in areas which may experience a mild freeze or two. As long as the roots don't freeze, the plant usually comes back but then it has to start its growth all over again so it probably won't bloom until mid-summer. Treat the plant with a fertilizer rated for flowering shrubs, higher in potassium and phosphorus than in nitrogen. I hope this helps.
