QuestionCan I plant the seed from the day lily pods
AnswerSure! Will they grow? Depends.
The Olallie Daylily website posts a page on 'How Propagating Daylilies':

Basically, when the pods turn brown and splits, it's time to harvest the Seeds within. Dry out, then refrigerator for a month or two before planting. They take about 2 weeks to germinate. After they sprout, it takes 2 to 3 years for a plant to reach blooming size.
Daylilies are usually increased by dividing clumps every few years. Divisions are the same as the other Daylilies. Understand that if you grow Seeds of these plants, Seedlings will look different from the parent plant. And not all seeds in a pod will be fertile. Also, entire plants may be sterile, and their pods may never hold viable seeds. But you never know...
