QuestionWe have a center garden area that has a weed blanket down and have put small bushes (not sure what there called)around. Problem is the grass, quite thick grass, keeps popping up and is strangling out my bushes and a small juniper. What can i do? Can i kill the grass somehow without killing my bushes. I pull it out but can't keep on top of it. Thank you, Erin.
AnswerHi Erin,
Thanx for your question. Here's what I do with bindwind which always gets in the middle of stuff I want to keep. Get a bowl you can throw away and put some Roundup in it. Be sure to wear gloves so you don't expose your skin to this stuff. Don't do this on a windy day either. Apply the Roundup to the base of the grasses with a paint brush that way it doesn't get on any of the other plants and you don't have to pour it into the soil where it might seep into the other plants. This has worked for me without causing harm to other plants. I did this with some suckers from a quince shrub I had dug out of the ground. The things kept showing up all over a small bed so I started dipping them in Roundup and you know what? It worked. I hope this helps.
