QuestionCan you help me decide the right ground cover or perennial for the job?
I have a large rock in the middle of my circular sidewalk with stone surrounding it, but I would like to replace the stone with soil. I live in central Indiana and the area is open to the North and Northwest.
Thanks.
AnswerYour best bet: Go to Bluestone Perennials:
www.bluestoneperennials.com
and click on the left side of the screen where it says 'Custom Search'. It's a little box. You'll have to find it.
Plug in your Zone (5a or 5b) and click on the specs you want. You will want to include the amount of Sun (be realistic about this, and remember, if there are any Trees around, they have not leafed out yet and you need to assume they will be shading the area). It's the best search engine I know of on the internet and Bluestone is a very reputable company that enforces its plant guarantee (not all of them do -- ever try bring in a pot of soil to Home Depot to show them their seeds didn't germinate?) no questions asked.
Any more help you need just holler.
