My soil is highly acidic and I need advice on fertilizing my privet hedge.

Hi Bob,
Thanx for your question.  Privet do well in soils with a pH of 6-7, so if it is lower than 6 add a little gypsum to the soil around your plant.  Follow the directions on the package of gypsum you can buy at almost any DIY or garden center.  Wood ashes and sawdust are also helpful in reducing the acidity of soil.  I hope this helps.
