Question
When should I prune my Oakleaf Hydrangeas?  They have grown so tall in the last 2 years and I would like to cut them back.

Hi Heidi,
Thanx for your question. My sister-in-law is called Heidi too.  Prune flowering shrubs after they have flowered.  Now that it is, in my opinion, winter, prune your hibiscus now but be careful not to severely prune them.  In general, you should still get some nice blooms next year.
