Question
My daylillys started to sprout what looks like new plants. Kind of like the seed pods actually sprouted. What can I do with these things. Can I cut them off and plant them.

One of the benefits of growing certain perennials is that if you grow them properly, they tend to multiply in their spare time.  To take advantage of this, you can 'divide' your Daylilies, following the illustrations at this website:

Plants obtained by division are preferable to those grown from seed because the seed grown plants will vary from the parent, while the ones you divided will copy the parent in color, form and size.  Dividing Daylilies also boosts the health of the parent plants.  The offshoots will be ready to bloom in season or two at the longest.
