QuestionGrew a wonderful vervain plant this season in Maryland and will I be able to divide it; will it survive freezing winter temps?
AnswerSandee,
Some varieties of Verbena are winter hardy. I always collect a few of the seeds and once I even brought them inside for the winter. With the weather so unpredictable these days it's best to save some seeds to start in Feb. inside or even take a couple of cuttings and root in water over the winter and plant in a pot until next spring.
If it does survive the winter, you can sure divide it in the spring!
