Shasta Daisy too tall and leggy

Question
Hi again

I have alot of shasta daisies in different locations in my yard, but one bunch
in particular get so tall and leggy that they just fall over.  I get frustrated with
them every year and end up just cutting them back so they aren't falling on
top of all my other plants.  They are in sandy soil here at the Jersey shore and
get afternoon sun.  Any suggestions.  I am willing to move them if you think
best.

Answer
Hi Kathleen,
thanx for your question.  The way your shasta daisies perform is how mine always did.  Part of the reason for this is wind.  If you live in an area that is actively windy such as the Jersey Shore (I live in Kansas) the wind is eventually going to take its toll on this plant.  I don't think moving them will have any effect.  Just enjoy them for the time you have them and cut them down after they collapse.  I hope this helps.
Tom
