Black eye sues

Question
I just bought two black eye sues, I have them in potting pots right now and do plan on putting them into the ground later.  I live in Canada and we have been having some pretty hot humid weather and my plants look like they are drying out even though I keep them watered.  It says they are a good plant for the sun but I don't know why they look so dried out during the day.  What might I be doing wrong?. they are a beautiful plant and don't want them to die on me.

Thank you
Shellie

Answer
Hi Shellie,
Thanx for your question.  It has been hot in a good portion of North America.  You'll need to water your plants in the morning and in the evening to maintain hydration.  I would get them into the ground as soon as possible.  Nurserymen water their potted plants all day long to keep them alive.  Once in the ground, black-eyed Susans love the sun and our drought tolerant because their roots penetrate deeply into the ground.  I hope this helps.
Tom
