Question
I am looking to plant something in front of green hedges that will bloom in the spring/summer.  Full sunlight all day.  I would like a row of 14" colorful something and then a row of 10" colorful something.  My job does not allow time to replant every year.  Any suggestions?  Live in the Chicago area.

Hi Nancy,
Thanx for your question.  It's hard to find a perennial that will bloom all spring and summer long.  I would suggest using lavendar for the 14 inch row.  You can find lavendar in purple, pink and white and it has a nice scent to it too.  Dianthus and Sweet Williams would be nice for the 10 inch row and they will bloom for a long period of time.  Sweet Williams are really biennial but will self-seed very easily.  I hope this helps.
