QuestionMy lilly-of-the-valley have been in the same spot for 5 years. They get zero sun and have never bloomed very much. The trillium and bleeding heart that grow along side them do very well, but the lillys have never bloomed very well. What am I doing wrong?
AnswerHi Cathy,
Thanx for your question. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Lily-of-the-valley do like a little bit of morning sun in the spring. Complete shade will make them bloom less although it doesn't seem to affect the foliage. Trillium and bleeding heart seem to do well in complete shade. I have bleeding heart on the north side of my house where it gets practically no sun and it always does well.
I hope this helps.
Tom
