QuestionI have had an Azalea for three years now and it's only just flowered this year in early April. I removed it from very clayey soil and planted it in a pot. I was wondering whether I need to dead-head it, and put in some lime-free soil. Any suggestions as to what do do with it would be appreciated. Although it flowered the flowers were not very big and I don't think they looked like they were supposed to. I also very recently bought a Victoria and planted it in compost and gave it miracle grow plant food. This has drooped now though and I would like to try and make it better. If you can help then please do. Thank you ever so much. Kitty
AnswerKitty,
I LOVE azaleas!!!! I just have never had one. I do take care of several for clients and I gather my information from the website of the Azalea Society of America
http://www.azaleas.org/index.pl/faq.html
They've always steered me in the right directions!!
And another good site:

Thanks for your question---come to think of it, I have a PERFECT place for an azalea now that my tree has grown and made my "full sun" area into a "partial sun" area!!
