How do I keep it alive,I want it to get bigger aroundand to be beautiful like the ones I see passing the road.What kind of fertilizer isrequired and how do I put it on the tree? I don't know what zone I'm in but it is NC.

Hi Christy,
thanx for your question.  There are fertilizer spikes you can buy at most nurseries of DIY stores (Home Depot or Lowe's) and get the ones that are rated for flowering trees.  Follow the directions on the package.  Much of North Carolina is in Zone 7 so the tree should be fine there.  Water the tree regularly if you don't have regular rain.  About once a week a good soaking is good if it is dry.  These trees grow fairly fast.  I hope this helps.
