Question
I live in zone 5. Must I dig cannas up or can I mulch them well. Thanks for your help.

Hi Shauna,
Thanx for your question.  Dig up your cannas immediately, brush off the excess soil but do not use water to do this.  Store the rhizomes in a cool, dark, dry basement preferably covered with some dry straw.  Most of the rhizomes should survive until the warm weather returns.  Cannas are only hardy to zone 7.  I hope this helps.
