QuestionI read that you are suppose to pull the flower stems for bouquets or when the flower has died off. Is this true? If so, why? What happens if they are not cut or pulled?

Here is a website from the Royal Horticultural Society in the UK with info on alstroemeria.
If you leave the dead flowers, seedlings may develop and as with most hybrids, the seedlings seldom resemble the parents and are usually of less quality. I hope this helps.
