QuestionThis year is the first time I've planted perennials. I've planted some day lillies and I'm wondering if I need to do anything to them as fall is here. Will they just grow back next year? Do I hve to cut them down or will they just wilt away as the snow begins to fall? Thanks for your time!

AnswerOla,
Let the green blades turn yellow to replenish the plant for next years blooms. Then in mid to late fall cut them all back to about 6 inches. In mid Spring you should start seeing the new green foliage emerge and they will get real bushy.Sometime in mid Summer they should beging to form buds and start blooming soon after.I just noticed you were in Canada so these dates are early for you.Just push the growth and bloom dates I just stated up about a month since you are farther North than I am. Hope they do well for you. They are really low care perennials.
