QuestionHi -
A friend split some of her perennials and gave them to me. I'm not sure where to place them, what type of exposure they need and how high they will grow.
They are Camelion, Guara, Blanket Flower and Coreopsis.
Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
AnswerI have not heard of Camelion.Perhaps it goes by a different name. But the others are very nice low maintenace perennials that like full sun and not alot of fuss. They are about the same size at maturity(12" to 24" high) so they would make good middle of the border plants.Taller plants should be planted behind them and shorter ones in front of them. They are not particular to what type of soil they have, but I prefer using your own garden soil mixed with a fresh potting soil that contains vermiculite and plant food already in the mix.It comes in large bags.Lowes has really large bags of good potting soil that is cheaper to buy in the largest bag possible. It saves money in the long run and you won't worry about making extra trips to the garden center every time you run out.You have chosen great perennials that should come up every year with no proble.Good luck to you and thank your friend for such wonderful plants.
