QuestionI live in Georgia and bought some Cally Lillies back in the Spring and planted them in a flower bed in our backyard. They were about 2 feet tall when I purchased them. They did beautifully for about 2 months and then the yellow blooms turned a green color and drooped over. The green foilage is still standing tall. Should I cut the blooms off. Also, I understand from reading other questions/answers that I should dig up the corms in the fall after the first frost and store them inside in a cool dry place. What should I store them in (i.e., paper sack, dirt, etc.)? Thanks so much for your help!

AnswerHi Charna,
Thanx for your question. I can't explain what happened to the color of your plants other than to say it must have been shock. Any time one digs up a plant or takes a plant out of a pot and puts in in a new pot or in the ground, there is going to be some shock.
Most of Georgia is in zone 7 or 8. As long as your soil doesn't freeze solid below two inches, you may leave the calla corms in the ground. Some parts of northern Georgia may not be warm enough in the winter for calla lily corms. I hope this helps.
