perennials in the winter

Question
I would like to bring some of my annuals inside for the winter, such as daisies and violets - will they continue to thrive inside in good light?
I live in southern NH.

Thanks

Answer
Ah, the heart of a true gardener, Erin - summer Daisies, Violets, who knows what else that you cannot bear to abandon.

Remember that old gardener's saying - spring will come again?

It's true.

Say goodbye.  Autumn is beautiful, too.  For winter, I grow Orchids - just winter bloomers, always fragrant, spiking in November and blooming in January and February.  Which is by the way the big month for Orchid Plant Sales.

Still, Erin, all good things must pass.  If your Daisies and Violets and Who Knows What Elses don't get their winter rest, they will not do well next year.  You need sleep.  Bears need to hibernate.  Daisies et al. need dormancy.

That, dear, is just the way God planned it.
