QuestionLast year I had day lillies planted in my front yard. They did very well. This year I have had a few flowers, but not as many as last year.
I now have seed pods on the plants. I am not particulary interested in growing lilliesfrom the pods, I just want the ones I have to flower.
Should I remove the seed pods? If I do, will the plants bloom? I hope you can be of some help.
AnswerHi Donna,
Thanx for your question. Remove the pods but this won't cause reblooming it just keeps the plant from wasting a lot of energy producing seed. Most daylilies, once they bloom they're done. There are some reblooming varieties that will keep blooming somewhat during the summer. Keep the spent blooms and pods removed to encourage reblooming. I hope this helps.
