QuestionHi,
I planted Blue Hydrangers. Now they are a paile blue to white. How can I get them back to the Blue, that they were.
I have asked several so called experts, and one stated that the fert. I need is no longer available, and the other stated use Ammoniun Sulfate.
Now I'm confused. Can You please help?
Gabe
AnswerHi Gabe,
Thanx for your question. The reason your blue hydrangeas are fading or turning white (sometimes even turn pink) is because the soil is low in acidity. You can use ammonium sulfate available at most nurseries or you can use a product called Miracid (made by the Miracle Grow folks) which is used for plants like hydrangeas that require acidic soil. Also, be sure to keep the soil well watered but not soggy. Follow the directions on the box. Ammonium sulfate is still available to gardeners. But Miracid is easier to get because Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe's they all have it. I hope this helps.
