QuestionMaryland, Zone 6 I believe, a couple years ago I bought a foxglove plant, not seeds. The foxglove is planted in a woodland garden getting partial to full shade, knowing the plant is biennual I have waited, after 3 years it still has not bloomed. Why is this plant not blooming? Every Spring the plant grows foliage but no blooms. Thanks for any help you can give.
AnswerHi Maria,
That's my sister's name. Thanx for your question. I live in Kansas and I have grown some foxglove. I had to grow them in shade because we have such hot summers. All foxgloves are not biennial. There are many foxgloves (digitalis) which are perennial and will survive for years in the same place. You may have bought a plant that was labeled foxglove but actually was not. Actually the climate in Maryland is more conducive to growing foxglove than where I live. I don't think you have a real foxglove plant. I hope this helps.
