QuestionAs the Portulacas are blooming, what should be done with them-Dose one need to dead-head or leave them alone, and what can be done when they get to the point that mine are-have bloomed beautifully, but now look pretty ragged on the stems, but are still blooming.
Thanks
AnswerHi Joan,
Thanx for your question. Potulacas don't need dead heading but it may be cooling off where you live which causes them to get leggy. They will also get leggy if there isn't enough sun, too much rain or water or if you are fertilizing them (don't). There's not much you can do except try to trim them up a bit. They will send out new growth but at this late stage in the year, you don't want to cut them back too far. I hope this helps.
