Question I have a couple of astilbes that I set out several weeks ago. They looked beautiful in the nursery but shortly after they were in the ground the blooms turned brown & the leaves turned brown around the edges. They get about 8 hours of sun(too much?).I live on the south shore of Massachusetts.Hope you can help! Thanks Josephine L.
AnswerHi Josephine,
Thanx for your question. I am leaving for Boston today for a month (work related travel). I love the are! Can't wait to get up there. In answer to your question, yes, too much sun. The plant will become accustomed though because you don't have hot summers. You may move it now if you like it has just suffered some shock. I wouldn't put it in full shade but a place where it doesn't get more than 5 or 6 hours of constant sun. I hope this helps.
