Question -
I have pink cranesbill that I want to transplant to another spot in my garden. However, the area I want to put it in is very low sun, actually pretty much all shade.
Can I do it, and how do I do it?
Also, when do I trim it back if at all?
Answer -
Hi Joan,
The time to transplant Cranesbill is in the spring or fall. I have, however, done so in the midst of summer and it did come out OK. Yes, trim it down to just past the flowered area, or to about 9".
It does ok in partial shade-but not well in dense shade.
I only have purple cranesbill, you're lucky to have the pink!

Would you like some of the pink? If you tell me how to protect it to ship, I'll send you some.
Answer Thanks for the offer, but this year I am overrun with plants. I don't think it would ship very well right now, it really needs to be in the dormant stage. If you would like to ssend some in the fall, I would be interested.
