Dear Tom,
If I can keep the woodchucks away...I should have a chance at some great hollyhocks this year.  I live in northern Massachusetts.  What product would you recommend to keep the BUGS from making holes in those beautifil green leavers before the flowers bloom.  Thanks for any help.

Hi Caterina,
Thanx for yur question.  There are not many products that will successfully protect your hollyhocks from bugs.  There are several insecticides from Ortho you can try for flowering plants.  Look for insecticides that have pyrethrum in them.  This helps deter bugs but it won't fully protect the plant.  You may see some munching.  I'm sorry.
