QuestionHi Tom, I'm a horrible gardner and don't even know if gerber daisies are perennials but it is my best guess. I live in southern california, beach area, and have a pot of gerber daisies. Yesterday, when I went to exam them, I noticed that their leaves were limp. It rained yesterday, but downpoured for maybe 15 minutes tops. the leaves are green, have a couple of brown spots on a few of the leaves. I potted them about 3 weeks ago...appeared to be doing fine until now. The top of the soil feels dry but I was afraid to water them until I discovered the "root" of the limp leaves. thanks so much. I hope I provided enough information.

AnswerHi Kimber,
Thanx for your question. Gerbera daisies are perennial in Southern California and make a great potted plant. You must water them frequently though in a warm dry climate as the water evaporates quickly. As long as there is a drainage hole in the bottom of the pot, there shouldn't be a problem getting them too wet. When the top of the soil dries out, water them. That should do the trick. I hope this helps.
