QuestionI have been gardening and growing under lights for over 30 years, yet I have never successfully brought any oriental poppies to maturity. Any suggestions?
Thanks
AnswerHi Gloria,
Thanx for your question. Oriental poppies resent being transplanted as seedlings. I have tried with no success and everything I've read indicates they are difficult if not impossible to raise indoors. You could plant several seeds in a small pot and transplant that way. I have taken root cuttings digging the roots up in the early fall and cutting off 3 or 4 inches of roots. They come up the next year. I hope this helps.
