QuestionAnother lady and I are wanting to plant a flower bed at church. It will be in a brick area approximately 2-3 feet wide and 4-5 feet long. There's some grass in there right now, with some bulbs of some sort. We would like to do a fresh flower bed and need to know what we need to do in order for our plants/flowers to live and the best combination of plants/flowers to use. We are wanting a good bit of color in this flower bed and would like the majority of the bed to bloom for the majority of the year. What do we do? I know this is elementary for you, but we are two that even the gardening for dummies book wouldn't help. ha ha! Thanks!

AnswerGinger,
What a wonderful idea. I need to know what "growing zone" you live in....if you don't know-just tell me where you live. Also, is the area in "full sun", "partial shade/sun" or "shade". About how many hours of sun will it get in the summer.
I have lots of information on cutting garden plants.
Sometimes the best idea is to use annuals for a cutting garden but there are some perennials that are great also.
Will look forward to further information.
