white low flying bugs on soil around my outside roses

Question
Being a novices my husband and I know absolutely nothing about roses.  I have avoided them all my life because I believed them to be very difficult.  We planted 4 rose bushes sold at the local grocery store in plastic covering the roots and soil.  We have gotten beautiful yellow and some pink roses really quickly. But now I see miniscule white bugs flying around the dirt surrounding the roses.  What can I do?

Answer
Whiteflies don't usually like roses but they don't hate them either!
Make sure you are feeding the roses a good organic fertilizer.
Don't water too much. Allow soil to dry in between watering,
A few things you can spray..
1. Hot coffee doesn't  hurt the plants just the whiteflies
2. Garlic will kill whiteflies too. Buy or make your own garlic spray. Buy 8 oz crushed garlic, place into panty hose, squeeze out the juice into gallon water.
3. Canola oil and dash of natural soap. Cup oil with  oz natural Castile soap like dr. Bronners. In gallon water.

Don't over spray, once a week is enough.

Hope his hops you
Andy
