QuestionI live in St. Louis, MO and have a row of 7 knockout roses in front of my house. They grew large, even though this is only their second year. My husband wants to trim them back now so the Christmas lights can be seen on the bushes behind them. Is it too late to trim them this year?
AnswerHello Eve,
I would say that it is too late to prune them hard now. If it was only several inches,I would say that would be fine. You may want to prune them really hard (cut to 12 -18 tall) in the spring. That will keep them from getting so big come the fall/winter.
Hope that helps.
