QuestionI took my rose bush from the store pot, and repotted it in a bigger pot. The soil is still really wet after several days, and my rose bush is dying and the leaves are yellow and its wilty. The pot does not drain, is it water logged? How do I save her?
AnswerHi Stephanie,
Too much water has the same look as not enough water. You have been observant to realize the problem.
Can you drill holes in the bottom of the pot to allow for drainage? If not, you will need to re-plant the rose in a pot that will drain.
In either case, let the soil go completely dry. Once you are sure the soil is dry, water lightly just to keep the soil moist The leaves will drop off but once it gets more roots it will put on new ones.
Good luck and hope that helps,
Jay
