QuestionDo I have to deadhead the hundreds of fading roses from my Cecil in order to keep it blooming?
AnswerHi Joan,
The best way to deadhead this one is to go down until the main stem is reached and cut below all the many dead blooms. Your next cycle of bloom will come from the main stem or cane.
If you are not sure, brush the dead petals off and wait for the new growth to emerge from the main stem and then cut just above the new growth.
I am not sure your level of rose growing but I always tell folks (new and experienced) if you are not sure- just wait, the plant knows what to do better than we do.
Please ask another question or follow up if you need to.
Hope that helps.
