QuestionDear Sir:
I want to grow the rose my daughter used as the main flower in her wedding. It was white with purple/magenta on the edges of the petals. I assume this was a hybrid tea rose, and I know it was called Nicole.
Many thanks,
James Westbrook
AnswerHello James,
She definitely picked a pretty rose and a rose that seems to be grown in Europe if you are looking for the actual plant to grow.
It is predominately a cutflower rose as http://www.zieger.com was the only US listing for buying the rose
You can try to root a few cuttings but sometimes the roses are treated to prevent such practices and you have no way of knowing.
I used www.helpmefind.com for my information. I also checked Hortico a rose nursery out of Canada and a US distributor of Kordes Roses,(hybridizer of Nicole) and she did not have the plants.
I am sorry to say that I did not help you much in this matter. There used to be a great nursery in the US that did sell the bareroot florist roses but they closed 5-6 years ago.
Please contact me if you need more leads or information.
