QuestionI have a rose, "Candy Apple" is it's name, and it has struggled for many (6-8) years so I would like to get a cutting from it and try to propagate it. What is the best way to do this? I live in southeast Virginia on coast-zone 7 or 8. I have also tried to find this rose everywhere, online and at local nurseries but have had no luck. Have you ever heard of it?
Also, how easy is it to move roses? Any tips?
AnswerCandy Apple was introduced in 1974. It was a beautiful shape and colour, but alas, not a strong grower. Because of that it was taken off the market and so no nursery now carries it. However, here is an excellent website that will guide you through all the steps in taking a cutting from a rose and making it into another rose bush.
