QuestionMy New Dawn climber is 3 yrs old and after 2 seasons of pale pink flowers is blooming bright fuchsia! How did this happen? I did use a different fertilizer this spring, could that be the cause?
AnswerAll roses are budded onto different rose to give them more strength then if they were just growing on their own roots. If your winter was a cold one, the rose could have died back and now the under stock is growing. The other reason for the difference in colour is that because roses have so many different roses in their background, sometimes a strong one will take over. It is called sporting. If the bright fuchsia is only on one cane but other roses are still a pale pink, then this is what has happened.
