Question
Floribunda Rose_03.jpg
The Floribunda has many flower buds.
Those that are in flower now, (May), have small buds growing in the centre of the existing flower.
Is this normal, or a sign of an infection or parasite.
AnswerThe flowers on your floribunda have proliferated which means there has been an upset in the hormonal process which makes a flower. The reason is still not really known why this happens. Some say it is unusual weather conditions which activate the hormone in a wrong way. What is happening is that the center of the flower is starting to make another flower and that is a new flower bud growing in the center. This is common with rose growers and when the next bloom flush comes along, the flowers will return to normal. It probably will not happen again.
