Questionour knock out is several years old & has always been beautiful. this year, after pruning, it seems the new leaves are burgundy colored rather than the normal green. is anything wrong with it, & how do we treat it? thank you for your help. sincerely, belinda
AnswerThe Knock Out rose normally has reddish coloured stems and the new growth is a reddish green. The leaves can be a darker red when they first start, then turn to a reddish green and finally a pure green. The weather, type of fertilzer and soil, all have an effect on the colour of the new growth. However if the colour is a very bright red, then that will be a symptom of a severe problem.
